Hondros College of Nursing is seeking a Director to oversee the launch of our new Medical Laboratory Technology Program!
Hondros College of Nursing is looking for a highly motivated individual to join our team in providing quality educational solutions and services to students by serving as Director of our new Medical Laboratory Technology Program. This individual will serve as Program Administrator for multiple campus locations, and will be instrumental as we prepare to launch our MLT program.
The Director of the Medical Laboratory Technology Program shall have the authority and responsibility for the administration, planning, implementation and evaluation of a Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) Program, consistent with requirements set forth by all relevant accrediting and approval agencies, including programmatic accreditation criteria published by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) and the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS). The Director of the Medical Laboratory Technology Program shall represent the College during institutional and programmatic accreditation site visits, and assume responsibility for annual reporting of the MLT program to any appropriate state agencies, institutional accreditor(s), ABHES, NAACLS, and other external regulatory stakeholders.
The following job requirements represent minimum levels of education, experience and competencies/abilities needed to perform this job successfully:
Education: A minimum of a Master’s Degree with a major in chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science from an accredited institution, Doctorate or MD preferred. Completion of a professional Medical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technologist program is required.
Certifications: ASCP-BOC certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Laboratory Technician
Experience: At least five (5) years of experience in practice as a medical laboratory professional and prior leadership/managerial experience; Minimum of three (3) years of experience teaching in a NAACLS-accredited MLT program.
